Forget Me Knot

Jewellery to stay connected……

Forget me knot, a little play on words and very appropriate right now.

This collection started 2 years ago, as a bit of a happy accident, when I was soldering 3 tiny silver jumps together and they fused into a knot rather than the chain I was intending. I liked the look of them so made them into a pair of studs - the ‘Knot’ studs where born. Although different from the rest of my work they still linked in with the theme of knotting (the process I use to make the lace elements of my jewellery).

Over 18months later, amidst a global pandemic and a stage 4 cancer diagnosis for my mum I decided to revisit this design. After months of lockdown and isolation I wanted to make a small token piece of jewellery that we could all wear to stay connected. A simple bracelet, one that could be worn everyday to remind each other we care.

Using slightly chunkier silver loops I put together a new larger design and paired it with some (0n brand) coloured cords (I love an excuse to purchase anything neon pink). Finally the’ Forget me Knot’ collection was born. I launched the cord bracelets and necklaces in early November followed shortly by the full silver, oxidised and matching sets.

You guys did what you do best and supported me by buying and sending these to your loved ones. One of the best things is getting to hand write the notes that go with them directly to your loved ones, knowing they will brighten someone’s day. These may only be small tokens but they really are keeping people connected!

Unfortunately (as many of you will know) mum passed away just before Christmas, but we still wear our bracelets to stay connected.

2021 doesn’t feel like much of a ‘New Year’ bit too much ‘Same Old’ really! In fact I am hiding from home-schooling and procrastinating my tax return in writing this very blog (no new me)!

But what is new is the addition of the Pinkie ring to the collection and options in 9ct yellow gold. All coming soon to my ETSY shop.

As a big thank you, and to help you all stay connected, until the 14th Feb the full collection has 20% off using code FORGETMEKNOT20, go check it out!
